Dispatched
بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Mercifulوَالمُرسَلٰتِ عُرفًا
(Angels) dispatched in succession.فَالعٰصِفٰتِ عَصفًا
To drive the wind.2

وَالنّٰشِرٰتِ نَشرًا
Stir up clouds.2

فَالفٰرِقٰتِ فَرقًا
Distribute the provisions.3
Subject indexAngels › drive windsProvisions › God controlsRain
فَالمُلقِيٰتِ ذِكرًا
Deliver messages.1
Subject indexMessage › delivery of
عُذرًا أَو نُذرًا
Good news, as well as warnings.2
Subject indexGood › bearer of good newsWarnings
إِنَّما توعَدونَ لَوٰقِعٌ
What is promised will come to pass.2

فَإِذَا النُّجومُ طُمِسَت
Thus, when the stars are put out.3
Subject indexDay of Judgement › describedSkyStars
وَإِذَا السَّماءُ فُرِجَت
The sky is opened up.وَإِذَا الجِبالُ نُسِفَت
The mountains are blown up.وَإِذَا الرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَت
The messengers are summoned.لِأَىِّ يَومٍ أُجِّلَت
That is the appointed day.1

لِيَومِ الفَصلِ
The Day of Decision.وَما أَدرىٰكَ ما يَومُ الفَصلِ
What a Day of Decision!وَيلٌ يَومَئِذٍ لِلمُكَذِّبينَ
Woe on that day to the rejectors.أَلَم نُهلِكِ الأَوَّلينَ
Did we not annihilate the earlier generations?ثُمَّ نُتبِعُهُمُ الءاخِرينَ
Then we made others follow them?1

كَذٰلِكَ نَفعَلُ بِالمُجرِمينَ
This is what we do to the criminals.1

وَيلٌ يَومَئِذٍ لِلمُكَذِّبينَ
Woe on that day to the rejectors.أَلَم نَخلُقكُم مِن ماءٍ مَهينٍ
Did we not create you from a lowly liquid?*فَجَعَلنٰهُ فى قَرارٍ مَكينٍ
Then we placed it in a well-protected repository.3
إِلىٰ قَدَرٍ مَعلومٍ
For a specific period.3
فَقَدَرنا فَنِعمَ القٰدِرونَ
We measured it precisely.* We are the best designers.وَيلٌ يَومَئِذٍ لِلمُكَذِّبينَ
Woe on that day to the rejectors.أَلَم نَجعَلِ الأَرضَ كِفاتًا
Did we not make the earth an abode?2

أَحياءً وَأَموٰتًا
For the living and the dead?2

وَجَعَلنا فيها رَوٰسِىَ شٰمِخٰتٍ وَأَسقَينٰكُم ماءً فُراتًا
We placed on it high mountains, and provided you with fresh water to drink.وَيلٌ يَومَئِذٍ لِلمُكَذِّبينَ
Woe on that day to the rejectors.انطَلِقوا إِلىٰ ما كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبونَ
Go to what you used to disbelieve in.1

انطَلِقوا إِلىٰ ظِلٍّ ذى ثَلٰثِ شُعَبٍ
Go to a shade of three different densities.لا ظَليلٍ وَلا يُغنى مِنَ اللَّهَبِ
Yet, it provides neither coolness, nor protection from the heat.إِنَّها تَرمى بِشَرَرٍ كَالقَصرِ
It throws sparks as big as mansions.كَأَنَّهُ جِمٰلَتٌ صُفرٌ
As yellow as the color of camels.وَيلٌ يَومَئِذٍ لِلمُكَذِّبينَ
Woe on that day to the rejectors.هٰذا يَومُ لا يَنطِقونَ
That is the day they do not speak.2

وَلا يُؤذَنُ لَهُم فَيَعتَذِرونَ
Nor are they given permission to apologize.3

وَيلٌ يَومَئِذٍ لِلمُكَذِّبينَ
Woe on that day to the rejectors.هٰذا يَومُ الفَصلِ ۖ جَمَعنٰكُم وَالأَوَّلينَ
This is the Day of Decision. We have summoned you and the previous generations.فَإِن كانَ لَكُم كَيدٌ فَكيدونِ
If you have any schemes, go ahead and scheme.وَيلٌ يَومَئِذٍ لِلمُكَذِّبينَ
Woe on that day to the rejectors.إِنَّ المُتَّقينَ فى ظِلٰلٍ وَعُيونٍ
The righteous will enjoy shade and springs.وَفَوٰكِهَ مِمّا يَشتَهونَ
And fruits that they desire.كُلوا وَاشرَبوا هَنيـًٔا بِما كُنتُم تَعمَلونَ
Eat and drink happily in return for your works.إِنّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجزِى المُحسِنينَ
We thus reward the virtuous.3
وَيلٌ يَومَئِذٍ لِلمُكَذِّبينَ
Woe on that day to the rejectors.كُلوا وَتَمَتَّعوا قَليلًا إِنَّكُم مُجرِمونَ
Eat and enjoy temporarily; you are guilty.وَيلٌ يَومَئِذٍ لِلمُكَذِّبينَ
Woe on that day to the rejectors.وَإِذا قيلَ لَهُمُ اركَعوا لا يَركَعونَ
When they are told, "Bow down," they do not bow down.وَيلٌ يَومَئِذٍ لِلمُكَذِّبينَ
Woe on that day to the rejectors.فَبِأَىِّ حَديثٍ بَعدَهُ يُؤمِنونَ
Which Hadith, other than this, do they uphold?2
